Buyers meet your listing through the photos first. Clutter, closed blinds, and mixed light make a good house look worse than it is. Send sellers this short list a day or two before the shoot so the gallery does its job.
Why Prep Matters
Maricopa and Valley homes sell on light, outdoor living, and space. Counters full of stuff, cars in the driveway, and blinds shut fight those strengths. You do not need a staging budget. You need a list sellers can finish the night before. Share it as-is.
Glideslope Media is a veteran-owned studio and an ARMLS Preferred Photographer. We support Zillow Showcase presentations and fly under an FAA Part 107 license when drone is included. For finished examples, see the Gallery. Package details sit on the home page and in the FAQ.
Before the Photographer Arrives
Walk the home once with a laundry basket:
- Clear kitchen, bath, and entry surfaces (mail, chargers, vitamins, pet bowls).
- Put away laundry, toys, and exercise gear from main living areas.
- Hide trash cans, recycling, and cleaning caddies.
- Straighten cushions; fold or remove busy throws; pull seasonal décor that dates the room.
- Replace burned-out bulbs; unlock every room that should be photographed, including a garage or casita if it matters to the listing.
If the home is occupied, a quick morning sweep usually catches overnight leftovers.
Lighting
Pro tip (from Sam): Make sure every bulb in a room—and ideally throughout the whole house—matches the same color temperature. Mixed warm and cool bulbs make rooms look patchy in photos. Check bulbs ahead of the shoot and swap the outliers so the light reads as one clean tone.
Open the window coverings where privacy allows, then turn on the lights you want in the frame. You do not need specialty photography bulbs. One consistent temperature from room to room is enough.
Windows and Blinds
Pro tip (from Sam): For horizontal blinds, tilt the slats so they sit parallel to the ground—fully open, not angled up or down. Open curtains and drapes all the way so daylight fills the room and the windows read clean.
That single change fixes a lot of “dark room” complaints before the photographer walks in.
Kitchen
Kitchens and islands carry a large share of listing clicks.
- Clear islands and counters of paper towels, dish racks, and unused small appliances.
- Wipe stainless and glass; empty the sink; clear the refrigerator door.
- Turn on under-cabinet and pendant lights when they help (after the color-temperature check above).
Aim for calm and usable, not sterile.

Living Areas
- Remove remotes, cords, and dog beds from the main sightline.
- Fluff pillows; straighten throws or remove them if they clutter the frame.
- Keep the walk path from the entry to the main room clear.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
- Make beds; fluff pillows; clear laundry from chairs and nightstands.
- In bathrooms, remove toiletries; hang fresh towels or take worn ones out; close lids; wipe mirrors and glass; match vanity bulb color to the rest of the house.
Empty bathroom counters speed the shoot and clean up the primary suite sequence.

Exterior
Curb appeal and outdoor living need the same care as the kitchen. That is especially true for Maricopa listings where the front elevation and patio do a lot of the selling online.
- Move vehicles away from the front elevation when possible.
- Hide bins; coil hoses; put away tools and toys; sweep porches, patios, and pool decks.
- Straighten patio furniture; tidy landscaping enough that it looks maintained.
- If the garage is shown, clear a usable path.
Keep sightlines open. Do not add props that do not belong to the property.

Day Of
- Share gate codes, lockbox instructions, and HOA photo rules before arrival.
- Secure pets. Lights on. Curtains fully open. Horizontal blinds tilted flat (slats parallel to the ground). Keep sellers out of active rooms.
- Flag priority spaces (pool, casita, office, views) so they get enough coverage.
As an ARMLS Preferred Photographer, Glideslope Media works within standard agent access workflows. Say so at booking if you want entry without a meeting on site.
What Comes With the Shoot
A typical session covers the interiors and exteriors that support the listing story. On the current package cards, Signature adds Part 107 drone stills, an interactive 3D virtual tour, and a 2D floor plan. Confirm details on the home page or FAQ. Cinematic video, virtual staging, and virtual twilight sit in Premier ($899) and are never a free hook.
